「正しい大人」とは何か？

こういうのが「良い大人」じゃないか、ええじゃないか。

大人は首尾一貫していないといけないのか。
アイデンティティーは、ひとつでなくてはいけないのか。
ハローワークで、大人の正論を吐くのが首相の役割なのか。
良い大人って、どういうことだろうか。考えてみた。



作家・重松清さんの『流星ワゴン』（講談社文庫）のあとがきが素敵である。
【「父親」になっていたから書けたんだろうな、と思う自作はいくつかある。『流星ワゴン』もその一つ――というより、これは、「父親」になっていなければ書けなかった。そして、「父親」でありながら、「息子」でもある、そんな時期にこそ書いておきたかった。ぼくは２８歳で「父親」になった。５年後、二人目の子どもが生まれた。二人とも女の子である。
その頃から思い出話をすることが急に増えた。忘れかけていた少年時代の出来事が次々によみがえってきた。身も蓋もない言い方をしてしまえば、それがオヤジ になってしまったということなのかもしれないが、ちょっとだけキザに言わせてもらえれば、「父親」になってから時間が重層的に流れはじめたのだ。
５歳の次女を見ていると、長女が５歳だった頃を思いだし、その頃の自分のことも思いだす。さらにぼく自身の５歳の頃の記憶がよみがえり、当時のぼくの父親の姿も浮かんでくる。
「子を持って知る親の恩」なんてカッコいいもんじゃない。愛憎の「憎」の部分が際立ってしまうことのほうが多かったりもする。記憶から捨て去ったつもりでいた過去の自分に再会して、赤面したり、頭を抱え込んでしまったりすることだって、ある。
でも、親になったおかげで、子どもの頃の自分との距離がうんと近くなった。その頃の父親の姿がくっきりとしてきて、当時はわからなかった父親の思いが少しずつ伝わってくるようにもなった。そのことを、ぼくは幸せだと思っている。】

子供を持つことによって、親は、自分が子供であったときのことを思い出す。
自分自身の再確認を、子育てを通じて繰り返すことによって、
良い親になっていく。良い大人になっていく。
子供の時の恥ずかしかったことや、
悲しかったことや、
親との確執を思い出しながら、
子供達との距離を保つこと。
それが、親の役割であり、子供の役割であり、幸せなのだ。
大人である「親」の役割を全うすることが、良い大人ではないと言うわけだ。

これは、「親」を「上司」に書き換えて考えてみても同じではないだろうか。
上司＝リーダーになったおかげで、現場や部下との距離がうんと近づく。見えてくる。
そういう感覚が、良い大人、良いリーダーには必要ではないかと思う。

大人になったら。
リーダーになったら。
政治家になったら。
首相になったら。
確固たる大人とは何かを、みんなが考える。
意見がブレてはいけない。アイデンティティーは、ひとつでなくてはいけない。
凝り固まった「大人像」「リーダー像」を全うしようとする。
それが、そもそも、家族としての、組織としての不幸せを招いている気がする。

良き大人とは、何歳にでもなれる。
良きリーダーとは、どんな役職にもなれる。
大人になるとは
「私という１人」になることではなく、
「いくつもの私」を束ねられるヒトになる体験をしていくことではないだろうか。



麻生首相がハローワークに出向いて、また墓穴を掘った。
職を探す若者に向かって「やることが決まっていなければ、相談にもなかなかのりにくいよね…
何をやりたいか、はっきりしたらどうか」と述べた映像が全国に流れた。
大人としては、正論である。意見としては、正しいと思う。



しかしながら、
「良い大人ではない」典型的コメントである。
「良いリーダーではない」典型である。
麻生首相の頭の中には、「大人とはこうあるべき」という姿しかない。
自分がこの職探しの若者だったら・・・
自分がテレビを見ているリストラ寸前の社会人だったら・・・
そういう多様な想像力に欠けている。
ハローワークは、説教が聞きたい場ではない。
いま麻生首相が行くべき場所は、雇用をする企業の窓口だと思う。


第４４代アメリカ大統領となるバラク・オバマ上院議員への世界の期待は、
黒人という人種的イデオロギーに揉まれた「いくつもの私」が内包されている、
多元的判断への期待だと思う。
政治や金融政策が、世界規模になればなるほど、多元的な判断が必要となる。
複雑な要因が絡み合う国際的課題への判断は、典型的な「良い大人」にはできない。


そういう意味において、
日本の政治の進化を拒むのは、議員の世襲制度が大きいと思う。
世襲議員には「いくつもの私」を体験する機会を持たない。
政治家として帝王学は学ぶかもしれないが、「多元的」な体験をしない。
ひとつのペルソナしか持たない議員の「チェンジ」を、大衆は、信用しない。


世襲議員ゆえに、
居酒屋も、ハローワークも知らないのであれば・・・
そのデメリットを活かすには、
体験する姿が、もっと新鮮で、生き生きとしたものでないと・・・。
わかった顔して「大人の意見」を述べても反発を喰らう。


暴れん坊将軍も、大岡越前も、水戸光圀も・・・
下々の世界に降りたときは、生き生きとしている。
あるべき正しい姿を追いかけていない。
下々との体験を常に新鮮なものとして描いている。
ドラマの世界と言えども・・・
日本人が「上の方に期待する典型的な姿」は、そこにある。


「大人の正論」は、
「自分は、まだ正しい大人ではない」ということを共有してからでないと
その発言力を有しない。だから、炎上する。


家族も、組織も、国家も・・・
そのリーダーが、「自分は一番正しい」という一元的な幻想から解き放たれること。
「多元的であるがゆえに、揺れてしまうこともある」ことを共にすることから、
幸せへの中身ある議論がはじまるのではないかと考える。
